Instructor
Stephen Zamierowski is a member of Deloitte’s New England technology, media & life sciences practice. As director of the Tech-VentureCenter, he focuses on helping information technology and life sciences entrepreneurs form the professional service and capital foundations for their companies. Before joining Deloitte, Zam was vice president of Marketing for a software startup. Earlier in his career, Zam held a variety of senior marketing and product management positions at Data General, Progress Software and Interleaf. He began his career as a market analyst with International Data Corporation. Zam is a frequent speaker, judge and coach for entrepreneurial programs at several institutions including MIT, BU, Northeastern and TuftsCenter. He is a member of the board of directors of The Capital Network (TCN), the New England Technology Foundation. Zam also serves as an advisor/judge for Mass High Tech’s Incubator of the Year Awards and a reviewer for the MassTechTransferCenter’s (MTTC) grant program.
Stephen Y. Chow is a partner at the Boston law firm, Burns & Levinson LLP, where he is a patent lawyer and business lawyer handling both corporate transactions and trials, primarily for technology companies. Mr. Chow was born in Mississippi of southern Chinese descent, grew up in New York City, attending Brooklyn Technical High School, and earned bachelor and master degrees in physics at Harvard and a juris doctor degree at Columbia. He practiced in New York City in antitrust and securities law before returning to Boston where he worked at law firms in a range of sizes, representing companies such as Digital Equipment Corporation and those founded by former Digital engineers
Mr. Chow is active in developing legislation underlying electronic commerce, notably as member of the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws and as a member of the American Law Institute, He is the author of a legal text, E-Commerce and Communications, and teaches on the adjunct faculty of Suffolk Law School. Mr. Chow has served on the Massachusetts Judicial Nominating Commission and has been selected from time to time by the Massachusetts Superior Court to help with discovery of electronic evidence. He is a long-time member of the board of directors for the Asian-American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts.
